Invite your team
Give teammates, clients or co-founders view-only access to one of your projects, with their own notifications.
Invite people to a project when they need to see its numbers without access to your account. Each person you invite becomes a member of that one project. They get their own login, see the dashboard and insights, and choose their own emails. You stay the only owner and the one who's billed.
Team members are part of the Team plan and the free trial. On Starter, Settings → Members shows "Collaboration not included" with an Upgrade to Team button. See Plans.
Invite someone
Open Members
Select the project in the project switcher, then go to Settings → Members. Only the project owner sees this tab.
Send the invite
Under Invite a team member, enter their email address and click Invite. They get an email titled "Your name invited you to view project on Muro Analytics".
Wait for them to accept
The invite shows under Pending with "Expires in 7d". Invites expire after 7 days. Use Resend to send the email again, or Revoke to cancel it.
Your own email address must be verified before you can send invites.
Seats
Each project has 6 seats. The counter at the top of the tab shows "N / 6 seats used". Pending invites take a seat too, so revoke invites nobody will use. When all seats are taken, the form shows "Seat limit reached" until you remove a member or revoke an invite.
Seats are per project. Inviting the same person to two of your projects uses one seat in each.
Accept an invite
The person you invite opens the link in the email and sees "Join your team on Muro".
- Already has a Muro account: clicks Sign in to accept, signs in, then clicks Accept invitation.
- New to Muro: clicks Create account to accept and signs up. Invited members skip onboarding.
They must sign in or sign up with the email address you invited, and verify it. Otherwise they see "This invitation is for a different email address." or "Please verify your email address before accepting an invitation."
They can click Decline instead. Declined invites show under Declined in your Members tab, with a Re-invite button.
Someone with pending invitations also sees a banner on their Overview page, "You have a pending invitation", with Accept and Decline.
An expired, revoked or already-used link shows "Link not valid".
What members can do
There is one role: Member, which is view-only.
| Members can | Members can't |
|---|---|
| View the dashboard, every panel and the filters | Change project settings, goals or the tracking switch |
| Read insights and mark them read | Mark insights done, snooze or dismiss them |
| View Sessions, when the owner's plan includes it | See the Members tab or invite anyone |
| See Goals, Integrations and Project settings, read-only | Connect Slack or Shopify |
| Choose their own emails for the project | See revenue amounts, unless the owner allows it |
| See the owner's Muro Links, which belong to the owner's account |
Shared projects appear on the member's Overview with a Shared badge and "Shared by owner".
Members' notifications
Each member sets their own emails per project, in Settings → Notifications under This project's notifications:
- Email me if tracking stops (off by default)
- Daily digest (off by default)
See Daily digest email and Tracking-stopped alerts.
Revenue
If the project has Shopify revenue connected, members see order counts but not amounts. To show them revenue, the owner turns on Let project members see revenue in Settings → Integrations → Shopify.
Remove a member
In Settings → Members, click the remove icon next to the member, then Remove member in the confirmation. They lose access to the project on their next request. Their seat frees up right away.
If you change plans
Downgrading to Starter suspends every member of your projects: they can no longer open them. Upgrading back to Team restores them, with no need to invite them again.
Verify it works
- In Settings → Members, the person appears under Members with their name and email.
- Ask them to open their Overview. Your project shows there with a Shared badge.
